Pune, May 26, 2025 – An FIR numbered 268/2025 has been registered at Sinhgad Road Police Station under IPC Sections 109, 352, 351(2), 324, along with Sections 3(5), 4(25) of the Arms Act, Section 37(1) and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, and Section 7A of the Criminal Law Amendment Act.
The case involves a 27-year-old accused resident of Vadgaon, Pune, who allegedly assaulted an 18-year-old youth, Sai Padurang Umap, a resident of Samarthnagar, Vadgaon Budruk, Pune. The victim, currently in police custody, was reportedly injured in the attack. Two juveniles in conflict with the law have also been detained in relation to the incident.
According to police reports, the incident took place on the night of May 26, 2025, around 9:45 PM near Samaj Mandir, Tukainagar, Vadgaon Budruk. It is alleged that due to a previous dispute, the accused attacked the complainant with a sharp iron weapon with an intent to kill. The complainant sustained serious injuries.
The attacker also created panic in the area and vandalized parked vehicles on the road using a sickle before fleeing the scene.
Police have taken swift action, and further investigation is ongoing.
