A daring burglary shook the Law College Road area of Pune, where a 75-year-old man’s flat was targeted by a thief who escaped with valuables worth ₹4,76,000. The incident occurred between 11 PM on July 29, 2025, and 6:40 AM on July 30, 2025, at Shantileela Society Lane.
The thief reportedly entered through an open door and stole ₹3.5 lakh in cash, silver jewelry, and even the DVR of the CCTV camera, likely in an attempt to erase evidence.
Following the complaint, Pune Police have launched an investigation and are now reviewing CCTV footage from neighboring buildings. Despite efforts, the culprit remains unidentified and is currently absconding.
Authorities have appealed to citizens to come forward with any information that may help trace the accused. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of senior citizens and the need for stronger security in residential areas.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to track down the thief and recover the stolen items.
