MUMBAI – The 10-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi festival is set to reach its grand culmination on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with the observance of Ganesh Visarjan.
Known as Anant Chaturdashi, the day marks the ceremonial farewell to Lord Ganesha as devotees immerse his idols in various water bodies. The event is a spectacular and emotional culmination of the festival, with thousands of processions filling the streets, accompanied by music, dancing, and chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya” (“Oh Lord Ganpati, come back soon next year”).
City authorities are already preparing for the large-scale event, with plans for crowd management and environmental safety measures to ensure a smooth and peaceful conclusion to the beloved festival. The Visarjan processions symbolize the return of the Lord to his heavenly abode, with devotees bidding a heartfelt goodbye and looking forward to his return the following year.
