Gauri Puja 2025: Three-Day Observance to Begin on August 31st

MUMBAI – As the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities continue across Maharashtra, devotees are now preparing for the revered Gauri Puja, a three-day observance honoring Goddess Gauri, the mother of Lord Ganesh.

​The rituals for Gauri Avahana (the welcoming of the Goddess) are set to begin on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Following the traditional invocation, the main day of worship, known as Gauri Puja, will take place on Monday, September 1st. Families will perform special prayers and offer traditional delicacies to the goddess on this day.

​The celebrations will conclude with the Gauri Visarjan (immersion of the idols) on Tuesday, September 2nd. This three-day observance is a significant and widely celebrated part of the larger Ganesh festival, with families welcoming the Goddess into their homes for prosperity and well-being.
