Mahindra & Mahindra has been making major headlines in the automotive world with a series of significant announcements and new product launches, particularly in the electric vehicle (EV) space. The company’s recent activities highlight its commitment to expanding its BE (Born Electric) lineup and pushing the boundaries of design and technology.
Mahindra BE.06: A New Electric SUV and a Special Edition
The Mahindra BE.06, a key model in the company’s electric vehicle portfolio, has been generating significant buzz. Based on Mahindra’s INGLO electric platform, the BE.06 is a five-seater electric SUV. It offers a range of variants with different battery packs and charging options.
- Variants: The BE.06 comes with multiple options, including different battery capacities (59 kWh and 79 kWh). The top-end “Pack Three” variant with a 79 kWh battery is said to deliver a range of up to 683 km (MIDC P1+P2).
- Performance: The electric motor in the BE.06 produces a maximum power of 282 kW and 380 Nm of torque, with a claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 6.7 seconds.
- Features: The car is packed with modern features, including dual 12.3-inch screens, a panoramic sunroof, Dolby Atmos audio, wireless phone charging, and ADAS L2+ with an 8 MP camera.
- Pricing: The ex-showroom price for the BE.06 starts at around ₹18.90 lakh, with the top-end variant priced at ₹27.65 lakh.
Limited-Edition ‘Batman’ Launch: In a unique collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, Mahindra has launched a limited-run BE.06 Batman Edition. Priced at ₹27.79 lakh (ex-showroom), this special edition is limited to just 300 units. It features a custom satin black paint scheme, 20-inch alloy wheels, gold-painted suspension and brake calipers, and a range of Batman-themed design elements both inside and out. Bookings for this collector’s item are set to open on August 23, 2025.
Mahindra’s Future Vision: The NU_IQ Platform
Beyond the BE.06, Mahindra has showcased its ambitious future plans by unveiling a new modular platform called NU_IQ. This platform will serve as the foundation for a new generation of SUVs. As part of this unveiling, the company revealed four new design concepts:
- Vision. S
- Vision. T
- Vision. SXT
- Vision. X
These concepts, developed in collaboration between Mahindra’s design studios in Mumbai and the UK, are designed to embody the company’s “HEARTCORE” design philosophy. While these concepts are not expected to enter production until 2027, they provide a glimpse into Mahindra’s strategy of creating versatile, high-tech, and globally competitive SUVs.
In addition to these concepts, Mahindra’s upcoming launches include:
- Mahindra Thar Facelift: An updated version of the popular Thar SUV.
- Mahindra Global Pik Up: A new pickup truck.
- Mahindra XUV 3XO EV: An electric version of the XUV 3XO.
