Pune City Crime Branch Arrests Externed Goon with Pistol
Unit 5 of the Pune City Crime Branch arrests a history-sheeter with a pistol
On March 29, 2024, in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Unit 5 of the Pune City Crime Branch was working to prevent any untoward incidents by criminals. Under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Vishwajeet Kaingade, different teams of police officers and constables were patrolling the area.
One of the teams, comprising Constables Pratap Gaikwad and Akbar Sheikh, received information that a history-sheeter named Abhishek Anil Bhadange, who was externed from Pune city and district for the past 5 months, was roaming around the Shewalwadi bus depot with a pistol, possibly with the intention of committing a serious crime.
The team swiftly laid a trap and apprehended the externed accused, Abhishek Anil Bhadange, aged 22, residing at Khursheed Apartment, 2nd Floor, near Bantar High School, Gadital, Hadapsar, Pune. A country-made pistol and one round were found in his possession, which he was using to create fear.
He was arrested and taken into custody along with the firearm. A case has been registered against him at the Hadapsar Police Station under Section 3(25) of the Indian Arms Act and Sections 37(1)(3) along with 135 and 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigation is underway.
The accused is a history-sheeter and was externed from Pune city and district for 2 years.
