Pune’s Assamese Community Marks Record-Breaking Bhogali Bihu, Strengthening Ties with Maharashtra
PUNE, January 2026 – In a vibrant display of heritage and unity, the Assamese Association of Pune, BORLUIT, hosted its largest-ever Bhogali Bihu celebration on January 17. The event drew over 650 community members, setting a new record for the Assamese diaspora in Pune and the surrounding regions.
The celebration served as a bridge between the traditions of the Northeast and the welcoming spirit of Maharashtra, transforming the city into a “home away from home” for hundreds of families.
