Redmi 15 5G Set to Launch Tomorrow, Promising a Power-Packed Budget Experience

​NEW DELHI – On the eve of its highly anticipated release, Xiaomi has confirmed key details for the Redmi 15 5G, which is set to launch in India on August 19. The new smartphone is generating significant buzz, primarily due to its massive 7,000mAh battery, which the company claims is a first in its segment. The device will be available in three colors: Midnight Black, Frost White, and Sandy Purple.

​Key Features Revealed Ahead of Launch

​The Redmi 15 5G is poised to disrupt the budget smartphone market with a combination of high-end features. The standout feature is its new “silicon-carbon” battery technology, which allows for a high capacity in a thin, lightweight body. Xiaomi states the battery is designed to maintain 80% of its health even after four years of use and supports 33W fast charging and 18W reverse charging. This means users can also charge other gadgets with the phone.

​The phone will feature a large 6.9-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate, a feature typically reserved for more premium devices. The display also includes “Wet Touch Technology 2.0,” making it usable even with wet hands.

​Under the hood, the Redmi 15 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, enabling 5G connectivity. It will run on HyperOS, which is based on Android 15. The company has committed to two years of major OS updates and four years of security patches. It will also integrate Gemini and offer features like “Circle to Search.”

​For photography, the device is equipped with a 50MP dual-camera setup on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. Its build is rated IP64 for dust and water resistance, adding to its durability.

​Pricing and Availability

​While Xiaomi has not officially announced the price, the Redmi 15 5G is expected to be priced around ₹15,000 in India, making it a competitive option in the mid-range segment. The phone will be available on Amazon, the Redmi e-store, and through select offline retail partners shortly after its launch.
