NEW DELHI – Vivo has officially launched its latest mid-range smartphone, the Vivo V60 5G, in India, promising a blend of premium design, powerful performance, and advanced photography features. The phone, which succeeds the V50, is aimed at users who prioritize a high-end camera experience without the flagship price tag.
DESIGN AND DISPLAY
The V60 5G sports a sleek and elegant design with a 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display. This screen not only offers vibrant colors and deep blacks but also boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and an incredible 5,000 nits of peak brightness, making it ideal for both media consumption and outdoor visibility. The phone’s premium feel is further enhanced by its impressive durability, with an IP68 and IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. Despite housing a massive battery, the V60 maintains a slim profile, with the Mist Gray variant weighing just 192g.
PERFORMANCE AND AI FEATURES
Under the hood, the Vivo V60 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. It comes in several configurations, with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The phone runs on FuntouchOS 15, based on Android 15, and Vivo has committed to a long-term software support plan, offering 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches. A key highlight is the integration of several AI features powered by Google’s Gemini, including Circle to Search, a smart call assistant, and AI-enhanced photography modes.
CAMERA SYSTEM
As expected from a Vivo V-series phone, the camera is a major focus. The V60 features a triple-camera setup co-engineered with ZEISS. This includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens with 10x zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. For selfie enthusiasts, there’s a high-resolution 50MP front-facing camera. This combination is designed to deliver professional-grade portraits and detailed shots, even from a distance.
BATTERY AND PRICING
The device is equipped with a large 6,500mAh battery that supports 90W fast charging, a significant upgrade from its predecessor. This should provide excellent battery life, with Vivo claiming the phone can power through a full day even after years of use.
The Vivo V60 5G is available in three striking colors: Auspicious Gold, Moonlit Blue, and Mist Gray. It will go on sale starting August 19 on popular e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart, as well as the Vivo India e-store and offline retail stores. The phone is competitively priced, starting at ₹36,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model.
