Pune, June 13, 2024 — In a brazen early morning attack today, a group of six individuals, including one arrested suspect, assaulted a local office worker in an attempted robbery near Purvi Mobile Shop in Aundh, Pune. The incident occurred at approximately 5:15 AM.
The assailants have been identified as Ek Isam (30) from Khadki, Pune, and Jay Sunil Ghegat (19) from Kasturba Gandhi Colony, Aundh, Pune. Ghegat has been apprehended by authorities, while the remaining suspects are still at large.
According to reports, the victim was riding his bicycle to work when he was intercepted by two individuals on an Activa scooter and others in a rickshaw. The assailants blocked his path and demanded money, threatening to “settle the money.” When the victim explained that he had no money, one of the attackers struck him with a rod, inflicting severe injuries on his left hand. Despite his efforts to flee, the victim was pursued by the attackers, who continued to assault him with the rod near Mangalam Construction in Aundh.
The assailants then fled the scene, with three escaping on the Activa and three others in the rickshaw, heading towards Parihar Chowk. It was later revealed that during the assault, one of the attackers was struck on the head with a rod, seemingly for an unknown reason, near Westend Mall, Aundh.

Local police have launched a manhunt for the remaining suspects. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the suspects to come forward.
The victim, whose identity is being withheld for his safety, is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries. The police have assured the public that they are doing everything in their power to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of the community.
