Today we celebrate National Science Day, a day to honor the contributions of science and technology to our society. On this day in 1928, Sir C.V. Raman discovered the Raman effect, which is a phenomenon in which light changes its wavelength when it passes through a material. This discovery led to a revolution in the field of spectroscopy, and Sir Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.

Science and technology have come a long way since then, and they continue to transform our lives. From smartphones to space travel, from medical advancements to renewable energy sources, science and technology have made our lives easier, healthier, and more sustainable.

But science is not just about technological advancements. Science is a way of thinking, a way of exploring the world around us, and a way of understanding ourselves.
