4 killed, dozens injured in head-on bus collision in Tamil Nadu
A head-on collision between two buses in Tamil Nadu on Saturday killed four people and injured dozens more.
The accident occurred on the Cuddalore-Viluppuram highway near the village of Pattampakkam. Two private buses, one carrying passengers from Chennai to Cuddalore and the other carrying passengers from Tirunelveli to Villupuram, collided head-on.
The impact of the collision was so severe that both buses were completely destroyed. Four people, including the driver and conductor of one of the buses, were killed instantly. Dozens more were injured and taken to hospitals in Cuddalore and Villupuram.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but police believe that one of the drivers may have been speeding or may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
