Pune: Bus passengers robbed of gold jewelry worth Rs 2.6 lakh

Pune, India – January 2, 2024 – A group of four men robbed six passengers of their gold jewelry worth Rs 2.6 lakh on a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The victims, all residents of Pune, were travelling on a bus from Lohegaon to Shivajinagar when the robbery took place.

According to the police, the four men boarded the bus at the Golden Palace stop in the Lohegaon area. They then surrounded the victims and snatched their gold necklaces, earrings, and rings.

The victims, who were all shaken by the incident, immediately reported the robbery to the Lohegaon police station.

The police have registered a case under sections 392 (robbery) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

The police are searching for the four suspects.
